Gecko Enclosure & Humidity Setup
Your gecko needs to have enough room and the right conditions in order to thrive.
Choose an enclosure at least three times the length of your gecko. This gives enough space for climbing, hiding, and exploring. Consider getting glass terrariums with secure tops since most geckos are skilled escape artists. Add branches, vines, and a few hides to mimic its natural terrain.
Most geckos thrive in warm, stable conditions, but their needs vary depending on where they come from. As a rule of thumb, keep daytime temperatures between 75–85°F and humidity anywhere from 40–80%.
Tropical geckos, like the Neon Day Gecko, prefer higher humidity around 70–80% and daily misting to stay hydrated. Subtropical species enjoy moderate humidity and a mix of climbing and ground space, while arid geckos (those from desert climates) need lower humidity (40–50%) and plenty of dry substrate.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Geckos
What is the friendliest type of gecko?
Leopard Geckos are often called the friendliest. Gargoyle Geckos are also a popular pick for their calm nature and easy handling. Another great option is the Leachianus Gecko. They’re easygoing giants that tend to be even less nippy than Gargoyles. Their slow, relaxed temperament has earned them the nickname "Tree Puppies."
Are geckos good pets?
Yes! Geckos are colorful, low-maintenance, and endlessly fascinating, which makes them some of the coolest pet lizards around. While some species can be more challenging to care for, we focus on the ones that are both stunning and beginner-friendly.
What is the best gecko to buy?
We recommend Leachianus Geckos because they’re big, chill, and easy to handle. Neon Blue Day Geckos are a great pick if you're after something visually stunning. Gargoyle Geckos are also an option, though they can be a bit nippy.
What is the easiest gecko to take care of for beginners?
We highly recommend the Gargoyle gecko, Leopard gecko, and the Crested gecko if you have low to zero experience.
Can two geckos live in the same tank?
Generally no. It's best practice to house all geckos individually so you can keep a close eye on each animal's health, feeding, and behavior. Most species, like Gargoyles and Leachianus, are also territorial by nature, which is another good reason to keep them separate.
