Mixing directions:

If boiling:

• Melanogaster: 1/4 cup media + 1/2 cup water
• Hydei: 1/3 cup media + 2/3 cup water

If not boiling:

• Use either 1/4 cup media + 1/3 cup water OR 1/3 cup media + 1/2 cup water
• We recommend NOT boiling for melanogaster and BOILING for hydei

Tip: If media is still dry when mixture is agitated, add more water.

Important: Make sure you are adding at least 75 flies to start new cultures.
